Pt. Shri. Vedavyasacharya
General
It is said that a wise person should not reveal certain matters publicly. What are those matters?
In Chanakya Niti, Chapter 7, Verse 1, Chanakya states:
“Artha-nāśaṁ manas-tāpaṁ gṛhiṇī charitāni cha
nīcha-vākyaṁ chāpamānaṁ matimān na prakāśayet.”
This means that a wise person should not openly reveal the following things:
Loss of wealth
Mental distress or inner sorrow
The conduct of one’s wife
Harsh or insulting words spoken by low-minded people
Personal humiliation or insults faced
According to Chanakya, a wise and intelligent person should keep these matters private and not disclose them publicly.
