Sri Visweshwara Theertha is the 16th saint in the lineage of gurus (guru parampare) after Sri Adhokshaja Theertha at the Pejawar mutt.
He received his Ashrama initiation from Sri Vijaya Theertha and served as the head (ruler) of the Peeta for a period of 10 years.
Sri Visweshwara Theertha was a great scholar who undertook pilgrimage tours multiple times.
He wrote a commentary on Sri Madhwacharya’s ‘Aitareya Bhashya’, and later commentators referenced his work, showcasing his greatness.
Additionally, he wrote commentary on Upanishads (Khandartha), Bhagavadgeetha Vivarana, and Nyayasudha Sangraha.
Mankali Dharmacharya and Bhagavantaraya wrote commentaries (Tippani) to his 'Aitareya Teeka'.
He appointed Sri Viswabhushana Theertha as his successor.
Sri Visweshwara Theertha passed away on the 9th day of Jeshta Bahula (a Hindu lunar month). It's believed that he passed away at Proshti, but this needs confirmation through thorough research.
