Sri Viswabhushana Theertha is the 17th saint in the lineage of gurus (guru parampare) after Sri Adhokshaja Theertha at the Pejawar mutt.
He received his Ashrama initiation from Sri Visweshwara Theertha and served as the head (ruler) of the Peeta for a remarkable period of 51 years.
Sri Viswabhushana Theertha was not only a great scholar but also a devoted ascetic (tapasvi).
It is believed that he had the ability to remove afflictions caused by spirits like bhutha and pishacha to his devotees (pada sevakas).
He appointed Sri Viswavandya Theertha as his successor.
Sri Viswabhushana Theertha passed away on the 5th day of Kartika Bahula (a Hindu lunar month).
After handing over the leadership of the Peeta to Sri Viswavandya Theertha, it is said that Sri Viswabhushana Theertha entered Vrindavana at Ramanathapura, but the exact location of his Vrindavana needs confirmation through thorough research.
