Sri Viswanidhi Theertha is the 22nd saint in the lineage of gurus (guru parampare) after Sri Adhokshaja Theertha in the Pejawar mutt.
He received his Ashrama initiation from Sri Viswapati Theertha and served as the head (ruler) of the Peeta for a period of 12 years.
Sri Viswanidhi Theertha was believed to be a great ascetic (tapasvi) and was proficient in mantra shastra and yantra shastra.
His expertise in these areas is indicated by a verse (sloka) written about him, praising his mastery: "मंत्रयंत्रैककुशलान् सर्वशास्त्रॊरुनिष्ठितान् श्रीविश्वनिधियॊगींद्रान् दयाळून् नौमि सर्वदा" which translates to "I bow to Sri Viswanidhi, who is skilled in mantra and yantra, and established in all scriptures, the king among yogis, and always compassionate."
Sri Viswanidhi Theertha appointed Sri Viswadheesha Theertha as his successor.
He passed away on the 7th day of Phalguna Shudha and entered Vrindavana at Udupi.
