Sri Kavindra Theertha is the 20th saint in the lineage of gurus at Puttige mutt after Madhwacharya. He received his spiritual training from Sri Yadavendra Theertha and led the Peeta for 35 years.
During his tenure at a mutt established by his guru in Puttige village, Sri Kavindra Theertha performed the avahana (installation) of the Narasimha idol carved on a pole in the eastern side and started daily worship (Pooja) to it. Additionally, he arranged for the daily worship of the Ganapati idol carved on a pole outside the mutt.
After passing on the leadership of the Peeta to Sri Raghavendra Theertha, Sri Kavindra Theertha entered Vrindavan at Puttige.
