Previous (Shri Janardana Teertharu) | Next (Shri Vagisha Teertharu)
Sri Srivatsanka Theertha is the second saint in the lineage of gurus following Sri Janardhana Theertha in the Krishnapura mutt.
Sri Srivatsanka Theertha received his Ashrama from Sri Janardhana Theertha and served as the head of the Peeta (seat) for a span of 40 years.
During his tenure, he embarked on an extensive pilgrimage tour.
Using the funds accumulated from these pilgrimages, he constructed a mutt in Neramballi near Kumbhasi.
One night, an elderly Brahmin appeared in Sri Srivatsanka Theertha's dream, informing him about a Gopinatha idol located in the north-east corner of the mutt.
The Brahmin mentioned that this idol was worshipped by Bheemasena during the Dwaparayuga (the era preceding the current age).
Acting on the dream's guidance, Sri Srivatsanka Theertha conducted a search in the specified corner of the mutt and unearthed the idol.
He subsequently installed the idol in the mutt as instructed.
Upon handing over the leadership to Sri Vageesha Theertha, it is said that Sri Srivatsanka Theertha entered Vrundavana at Prayaga. However, this account requires thorough research to confirm its accuracy.
