Shri Vagisha Teertharu is the third saint in the lineage of gurus following Sri Janardhana Theertha in the Krishnapura mutt.
Shri Vagisha Teertharu received his Ashrama from Sri Srivatsanka Theertha and served as the head of the Peeta for a duration of 48 years.
Initially, he embarked on an extensive pilgrimage tour.
During his journey, Lord Gopinatha appeared in his dream, instructing him to return to the Neramballi mutt.
Following the divine guidance, Sri Vageesha Theertha resided in the mutt for an extended period, blessing devotees.
While there is a saying that his Vrundavana (final resting place) is located in Neramballi, the official records of the mutt state that he passed away in Brahmavarta.
Upon relinquishing the leadership to Sri Lokesha Theertha, it is believed that Shri Vagisha Teertharu entered Vrundavana at Brahmavarta. However, this account requires thorough research to verify its accuracy.
