Sri Krishna Theertha holds the position of the eighth saint in the lineage of Shiroor Mutt following Sri Vamana Theertha. He received his Ashrama initiation from Sri Mahesha Theertha and served as the pontiff for a period of 16 years.
Renowned for his dedication to spiritual practices (tapasvi), Sri Krishna Theertha was also an accomplished musician with a profound interest in music. It is recorded in history that while he sang Bhajans in praise of Lord Krishna, the sound of anklets and bracelets could be heard by all present.
Upon passing on the leadership of the Peeta to Sri Raghava Theertha, Sri Krishna Theertha is said to have transcended to Vrindavana, with accounts suggesting his final resting place on the banks of the river Krishna.
