Sri Mahesha Theertha is the seventh saint in the lineage of Shiroor Mutt following Sri Vamana Theertha. He received his Ashrama initiation from Sri Vedavedya Theertha and served as the pontiff for a duration of 24 years.
Devoting himself to rigorous fasting (Upavasa vrata) for a remarkable period of 12 years, Sri Mahesha Theertha exemplified his commitment to austerity. Renowned for his scholarly pursuits, he was widely respected for his adherence to austere practices.
Upon passing on the leadership of the Peeta to Sri Krishna Theertha, it is believed that Sri Mahesha Theertha transcended to Vrindavana, with accounts suggesting his final resting place on the banks of the river Godavari.
