Sthala Purana According to the Devarayanadurga Kshetra tradition, Brahma stayed at this sacred hill and performed severe tapas. Pleased with his devotion, Lord Narasimha appeared before Brahma and granted him darshana together with Mahalakshmi. The hilltop deity is therefore worshipped as Sri Yoga Lakshmi Narasimha.
The Kshetra has two important Narasimha temples. Yoga Lakshmi Narasimha is on the upper hill, while Bhoga Lakshmi Narasimha is lower down; the latter is traditionally associated with Durvasa Maharishi.
