Sthala Purana
The temple at Singarayakonda is dedicated to Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy, where the Lord is worshipped in his combined form of Varaha and Narasimha. Local lore narrates that Narasimha appeared here to protect devotees from demonic forces and bless the coastal region. The kshetra is mentioned in inscriptions dating back to the Chola and Vijayanagara periods. The deity is revered as a guardian of dharma and prosperity, and the temple is considered one of the important Narasimha shrines in Andhra Pradesh.
