Sthala Purana
At the foothills of Susunia stands an unusual open-air monolithic Narasimha whose appearance differs markedly from familiar temple iconography. The shrine forms part of the ancient sacred landscape of Susunia Hill.
Beside the deity, water continuously flows from a stone spout and is locally regarded as sacred. Susunia is also archaeologically important, giving the Narasimha shrine a distinctive combination of devotional, natural and historical significance.
