Sthala Purana
Pazhaya Seevaram is an old Narasimha Kshetra on Padmagiri hill, near the meeting region of the Palar, Cheyyar and Vegavathi river systems. The sthala tradition connects the hill with Atri Maharishi's tapas and the worship of Lakshmi Narasimha.
The shrine also has ritual and historical links with the wider Kanchipuram sacred landscape. Its hill setting and ancient riverine location give the Kshetra a distinctive character.
