Sthala Purana
The Lakshmi Narasimha Temple at Nuggehalli was built in 1246 CE during the reign of Hoysala king Vira Someshwara under the patronage of Bommanna Dandanayaka. It is one of the finest surviving examples of mature Hoysala temple architecture.
The trikuta complex contains richly carved Vaishnava, Shaiva, Shakta and epic imagery, with Narasimha occupying the central devotional identity of the temple. Its artistic quality makes it a major historical Narasimha site.
