Sthala Purana
Javagal's Lakshmi Narasimha Temple is an important Hoysala monument, generally dated to the thirteenth century. The richly worked soapstone temple displays the characteristic stellate plan and intricate sculptural programme associated with mature Hoysala architecture.
The shrine is valuable both as a place of worship and as evidence of the prominence of Narasimha within medieval Karnataka's royal and artistic culture.
