Sthala Purana Parashara Maharishi performed austerities on the banks of the Krishna while meditating on Narasimha. The Kshetra tradition says the Lord appeared before him in a blazing Jwala Narasimha form. At the Lord's direction, the sacred form was later immersed in the Krishna and subsequently recovered.
