Sthala Purana
The temple is dedicated to Sri Banda Narasimha Swamy, where the Lord is believed to have manifested upon a sacred rock (Banda in Telugu). Local lore narrates that Narasimha appeared here to protect sages performing penance, leaving his divine presence imprinted on the rock. The shrine is considered swayambhu (self‑manifested) and is revered for granting courage, protection, and prosperity.
