Pajaka is treated as Sri Madhwacharya's sacred birthplace. The entry preserves its direct Acharya association and the nearby traditional tirthas. The reference is retained here in the sequence of Sri Vadirajaru's pilgrimage so that a pilgrim can connect the present-day sacred place with the Kshetra or Tirtha praised in the Tirtha Prabandha.
Sthala Purana: Pajaka is revered as the janmabhoomi of Sri Madhwacharya, the great exponent of Tattvavada. The sacred complex preserves several places connected with his childhood as Vasudeva: the ancestral home, Sri Anantha Padmanabha worship, the stone associated with his aksharabhyasa, the footprint tradition, and other memorials described in Madhwa tradition. Sri Vadirajaru later installed an image of Sri Madhwacharya at the place associated with the Acharya's remarkable leap in response to his mother's call.
Other places to See in the Kshetra: Sri Madhwacharya Janmasthala and ancestral house; Sri Anantha Padmanabha shrine; Sri Madhwacharya shrine and footprints; Vasudeva Tirtha; the traditional childhood-incident sites; and the four Parashurama-associated tirthas around nearby Kunjarugiri - Parashu, Dhanush, Bana and Gada Tirthas. Kunjarugiri Durga Temple can be combined naturally with the Pajaka visit.
