Kunjarugiri / Durga Betta

Sri Vadirajaru praises Durga on Kunjarugiri and connects the hill with the four traditional weapon-tirthas and the sacred geography of Sri Madhwacharya's birthplace. The reference is retained here in the sequence of Sri Vadirajaru's pilgrimage so that a pilgrim can connect the present-day sacred place with the Kshetra or Tirtha praised in the Tirtha Prabandha.

Sthala Purana: Kunjarugiri, also known as Durga Betta and identified in the Tirtha Prabandha tradition with Vimanagiri, is the sacred hill adjoining Pajaka. Sri Durga is worshipped on the summit, and the hill is closely connected with Sri Madhwacharya's childhood traditions. Around the hill are the four celebrated tirthas named after the divine weapons - Parashu, Dhanush, Bana and Gada.
