Bhavishya Badri — Narasimha Tradition

Sthala Purana

Bhavishya Badri means 'the Badri of the future'. The Himalayan tradition connects this remote shrine with the future transfer of Badrinath worship when the present route becomes inaccessible.

A divine form is traditionally believed to be gradually emerging from the rock here and is associated with Narasimha. The shrine is therefore an important part of the Badri pilgrimage tradition and the sacred geography around Joshimath.
