Shri Keshavamadhava Teertharu is the 18th saint from Shri Madhava Teertha Math (Parampare #18).
His guru was Shri Rama Madhava Teertharu, and his disciple was Shri Prajna Madhava Teertharu.
He served during the period 1740–1780.
His Poorvashrama name needs to be researched.
His Brindavan is located at Bhadravati.
His aradhana is observed in the month of Ashadha, during Shukla Paksha Shashti.
He was a highly learned scholar and a true Vairagya Shikhamani (crown jewel of renunciation).
During a tour, he arrived at a place called Kabalikatte, near Bhadravati, during a time of severe famine. Moved by the suffering of the people, he chose to stay and help instead of continuing his journey.
He built a small hut for his daily puja and began serving the people using his expertise in Ayurveda, treating various illnesses.
Sri Mummadi Krishnaraja Wodeyar visited the place, was impressed by the swamiji’s selfless service, and granted lands to the matha. He also renamed the area as "Majjigehalli", and the matha came to be known for a time as Majjigehalli Matha.
His Brindavana is still vibrant and spiritually active.
He has appeared in dreams of devotees, guiding them on what arrangements he wants around his Brindavana.
Some people have even seen him taking a bath in the river and returning to the Brindavana.
He instructed his family lineage (vamshikarus) to relocate his Brindavana to its current location.
The Pranadevaru behind his Brindavana is also very powerful and known to bless devotees.
Haridasa Ratna Shri Gopala Dasaru has composed a stotra in praise of this revered Swamiji.
