Tambuli is a traditional Udipi dish. It is very easy to prepare and goes well with Hot Rice.

Ingredients

Servings – 4 People)

Palak or any Greens - 5-6 Strands 
Grated Coconut - 1 Tablespoon 
Grated Ginger - 1 Tablespoon 
Cumin Seeds - ½ Tablespoon 
Green Chillies - 2-3 Pcs 
Bengal Gram (Chana Dal) - 1 Tablespoon 
Fenugreek Seeds (Methi) - ¼ Tablespoon 
Butter Milk/Whisked Curd - 1 Cup 
Cooking Oil - 1 Tablespoon 
Salt - As required 
Water - Little

Instructions

  • Heat oil in a Kadai
  • Rinse and wash the Palak (or any Greens) clean and keep it aside.
  • Once the oil become hot, add one by one, Cumin Seeds, Bengal Gram, Fenugreek Seeds, Grated Ginger, Green Chillies and Grated Coconut.  Fry them gently for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add Palak and fry it in low flame for 5 mts until it becomes mushy and cooked.
  • Let it cool for 5 minutes
  • Add Salt to the mixture and blend it with little water in a Mixer.
  • Add the paste to the Butter Milk/Whisked Curd.
