This is in a way a simple Sambar/Huli with any leafy vegetable. We will look at the Tanjore Marati version of this recipe.
Tur dal - 1/3 cup
Tamrind - medium lime sized
Methi seeds -1/4 Tablespoon
Mustard seeds - 1/2 Tablespoon
Red chilli - 3 Pcs.
Green chilli- 2 Pcs. slit into half
Asafoetida- 1/8 Tablespoon
Rice flour- 1/2 Tablespoon
Any Leafy Vegetable - Palak or Amaranth Leaves.- 2 cups finely chopped (stem can also be used, depending on the type of Plant used)
Salt as per taste
