Sri Viswajna Theertha is the 31st saint in the lineage of gurus (guru parampare) after Sri Adhokshaja Theertha in the Pejawar mutt.
He received his Ashrama initiation from Sri Viswamanohara Theertha and served as the head (ruler) of the Peeta for a few years.
Sri Viswajna Theertha was born in the village of Nagari near Subramanya, and it is believed that Sri Madhwacharya visited that place during his time.
His parents were Sri Narayanacharya and Smt. Saraswati.
He took sanyasa (renunciation) at the age of 14.
Sri Viswajna Theertha was known for his tall and strong physique.
He performed the Paryaya ceremony (the transfer of the responsibility of the Udupi Krishna temple) twice.
Sri Viswajna Theertha undertook a complete pilgrimage tour from Badari to Kanyakumari on foot.
He attained siddhi (spiritual realization) on the Krishna mantra.
Many childless couples were blessed with children through his blessings.
Sri Viswajna Theertha listened to the complete Bhagavatha Purana (a Hindu scripture) while fasting.
He was widely respected by Govinda dasa of Kuttetturu.
Finally, he appointed Sri Viswamanya Theertha as his successor and left his mortal body.
His place of Vrindavana is in Udupi.
