Sri Viswadhiraja Theertha is the 24th saint in the lineage of gurus (guru parampare) after Sri Adhokshaja Theertha in the Pejawar mutt.
He received his Ashrama initiation from Sri Viswadheesha Theertha and served as the head (ruler) of the Peeta for a significant 36 years.
Sri Viswadhiraja Theertha was a distinguished scholar, ascetic (tapasvi), and observed fasting vrata (austerity).
He is credited with saving his disciples (sishyas) from the afflictions caused by brahma rakshasa, bhuta, and pisachi (different types of malevolent spirits).
Sri Viswadhiraja Theertha appointed Sri Viswabodha Theertha as his successor.
He passed away on the 2nd day of Jeshta Shudha at Udupi.
