Shri Vidyatma Teertha Swamiji was born on 15 October 1930 in a Sanskrit speaking large zamindar family in Hubli-Dharwad district of Karnataka. He was always engaged in social service and was attached to Vishwa Hindu Parishad. He took over the charge of Shri Prayaga Madhwa Math at the age of 72 by taking up Sanyas Ashram on the orders of his Guru Shri Shri 1008 Vidyadheesha Teertha Swami ji of Shri Palimaru Matha.
After learning Hindi by studying literary Hindi for many years, he has published many books based on Madhwa Philosophy in Hindi. Even at the age of 89 Swamiji is constantly involved in publishing the Madhwa principles in Hindi, without showing any signs of hard work.
Swamiji has translated and published many works in easily understandable Hindi, including Brahmasutra, Bhagvatam, Bhagvat Geeta, Ramayana character illustration, Sunderkand, Gajendra Moksha, Roop-Naama-Guna-contemplation, etc.
Swamiji had studied Brahmasutra for two months in Badrinath from Pejavar Swamiji in the year 1992. He completed the Hindi Translation of it in the year 2019 during the Paryaya of Shri Vidyadheesha Teertha Swamiji of Shri Palimaru Matha and dedicated it to Shri Vishwesha Teertha Swamiji of Shri Pejawar Matha.
As Peetadipati of Shri Prayaga Madhwa Matha, Swamiji has been constantly involved in propagating Madhwa Philosophy. For the benefit of all, he has been working for years in translating many works on Shastra. Swamiji has also started a magazine called Sarvamoola in strong, powerful, beautiful and clearly worded Hindi for the Bhagavat Bhaktas.
Shri Vidyatma Teertha Swamiji has strengthened the work of former Peetadhipati Shri Vidyavallabha Teertha Swamiji with his diligent contribution. Swamiji has translated and composed many books based on Madhva Siddhanta in Hindi.
