Previous (Shri Vamana Teertharu)    |    Next (Shri Punyasloka Teertharu)

Sri Vasudeva Theertha holds the position of the second saint succeeding Sri Vamana Theertha in the guru parampare of Shiroor Mutt. He received his Ashrama initiation from Sri Vamana Theertha and served as the pontiff for 20 years.

Endowed with the blessings of Jagadguru Sri Madhwacharya, Sri Vasudeva Theertha dedicated himself to disseminating the Dvaita philosophy through discourses and Vedanta explanations. He engaged in a notable debate with a Buddhist monk and emerged victorious, showcasing his profound understanding of the philosophy.

Sri Vasudeva Theertha attained mantra siddhi, demonstrating remarkable spiritual prowess by manifesting leaves and flowers on dry wood. His contributions revitalized the Dvaita philosophy, breathing new life into its teachings.

Upon passing on the leadership of the Peeta to Sri Punyasloka Theertha, Sri Vasudeva Theertha is believed to have entered Vrindavana at Dwaraka, marking the culmination of his earthly journey.
