Another great soul who illuminated the legacy of Palimaru Matha is the second seer in the lineage, Shri Samaatmesha Teertha. He had the great privelege of getting initiatied into sainthood by Shrimadacharya’s dear disciple Shri Hrishikesha Teertha. Shri Hrishikesha Teertha named him ‘Shri Samaateshma’. Samaateshma is one of the thousand names of the Lord. Samaatma means the same in all forms. One who sees all beings as equal.
To this name of Samaatma, Shri Hrishikesha Teertha added the word esha from his name and called him Shri Samaatmesha. Since the equitable Lord is his master, he came to be called Shri Samaatmesha. To this noble knowledgeable seeker with an equitable view everywhere, the Lord is his ruler. Thus in both ways, his name was meaningful. Like his guru Shri Hrishikesha Teertha, he too completely turned inwards, meditating upon the Lord and lead a life of asceticism. In Paraabhava samvatsara, shravana shukla bidige, he attained the lotus feet of Shri Krishna at the banks of the Krishna river.
