Sri Viswamurthy Theertha is the 20th saint in the lineage of gurus (guru parampare) after Sri Adhokshaja Theertha at the Pejawar mutt.
He received his Ashrama initiation from Sri Vidyaraja Theertha and served as the head (ruler) of the Peeta for a period of 30 years.
There isn't much information available about Sri Viswamurthy Theertha.
He was known as a great ascetic (tapasvi) and frequently conducted paata pravachana (recitation and explanation of scriptures) for his disciples.
Sri Viswamurthy Theertha appointed Sri Viswapati Theertha as his successor.
He passed away on the 12th day of Pushya Shudha (a Hindu lunar month) at the Pejawar mutt.
