Sri Viswabhushana Theertha is the eighteenth saint in the lineage of Shiroor Mutt following Sri Vamana Theertha. He received his Ashrama initiation from Sri Lakshminarayana Theertha and served as the pontiff for a duration of 22 years.
Renowned as an authority on Vedanta and the Upanishads, Sri Viswabhushana Theertha was revered as a great teacher with a significant following of disciples.
It is also believed that Sri Trailokyapavana Theertha was his disciple, although this information is not mentioned on the mutt's website.
Upon passing on the leadership of the Peeta to Sri Lakshmikanta Theertha, Sri Viswabhushana Theertha is said to have entered Vrindavana at Shivapura, marking the culmination of his earthly journey.
