Shri Suresvara Teertharu

Previous (Shri Tapomurthi Teertharu)     |     Next (Shri Jagannatha Teertharu)

Sri Sureswara Theertha is the seventeenth saint in the lineage of gurus following Sri Janardhana Theertha in the guru parampare of Krishnapura mutt.

He received his Ashrama from Sri Tapomurthy Theertha and led the Peeta for 12 years.

Sri Sureswara Theertha was renowned for his ascetic practices, yogic abilities, and knowledge of past, present, and future.

Once, Krishnacharya tried to test Sri Sureswara Theertha by presenting a pumpkin with a hidden vegetable inside.

Sri Sureswara Theertha immediately exposed the deception and publicly revealed the truth.

As a consequence, Krishnacharya faced discomfort from the vegetable inside the pumpkin.

Seeking forgiveness, Krishnacharya surrendered to Sri Sureswara Theertha, who blessed him with sacred water from his kamandala.

Sri Sureswara Theertha passed on the leadership to Sri Jagannatha Theertha before entering Vrundavana on the banks of the river Krishna.

However, further research is needed to confirm the exact location of his Vrundavana.
