Sri Gopalaswamy Theertha was a devoted follower of his guru, Sri Sridhara Theertha. He possessed a deep understanding of the works of Sri Padmanabha Theertha, particularly 'Sanyaya Ratnavali' and 'Sattarkadeepavali'. He dedicated most of his time to teaching students, sharing his knowledge and wisdom.
For about 22 years, Sri Gopalaswamy Theertha diligently guided the ashram's activities. Eventually, he entrusted the responsibility of the Ashram to one of his cherished disciples, whom he named Sri Ramachandra Theertha. Following this transition of leadership, Sri Gopalaswamy Theertha peacefully entered Brindavan near that of Sri Sripadaraja on Shravana Shudha Poornima.
