Sri Vadirajaru praises Rajatapeethapura, Madhwa Sarovara, Sri Krishna and Anantheshwara in the Udupi section. The treatment is strongly Madhwa in orientation and celebrates Sri Madhwacharya's Krishna worship and the sacredness of Udupi.
Sthala Purana: Udupi is one of the foremost Madhwa Kshetras. Tradition records that Sri Madhwacharya obtained the image of Bala Krishna from a mass of gopichandana carried in a ship and installed the deity at Udupi. He established the system of worship associated with the Ashta Mathas. The sacred landscape also includes Madhwa Sarovara and the ancient Anantheshwara and Chandramoulishwara temples, which predate the Krishna Matha.
