First, a Brahmachari generally does not have full authority to perform elaborate deity worship.
His main duties are:
Serving the Guru
Studying the Shastras from the Guru
This is taught in the tradition — after Upanayana, the instruction is that he should mainly practice service and learning, not elaborate rituals.
He should especially perform:
Guru seva (service to the teacher)
Study of scriptures
Worship connected with Agni and Guru
That includes:
Worship of Agni
Worship of Parashurama
Worship of Vedavyasa
Worship of Hayagriva
If unavoidable, he may perform simple Vedic and Satvik upasana.
He may also:
Perform brief daily deity worship
Do special puja on occasions like Krishna during Krishnashtami
There is no fault in doing these briefly.
