What do the scriptures say about the holiness of Tulasi, Bilwa, Kamala, Ganga, and similar items?

The rule is explained as follows:

• Tulasi leaves → remain pure for 10 nights
• Bilva leaves → remain pure for 5 nights
• Lotus → remains pure for 3 nights
• Ganga water (Jahnavi Jala) → remains pure always

Important Understanding

👉 Tulasi, Bilva, and Lotus have a limited period of purity after being plucked
👉 But Ganga water is always pure, without any time limit

Practical Practice

Because Ganga water is always pure:

• We store it in a Kalasha (container) at home
• It is used regularly in Puja and rituals

Conclusion
