My Kula Devatha is Lord Venkatachalapathy? Can I keep idol or photo of Lord Narasimha at home?

Answered By Pt Sri Pranesh Achar (Ananda Rangan)

General

There is no difference between the forms of Bhagavān. Srinivāsa, Narasimha, and Varadarāja are all the same Supreme Lord, only appearing in different forms.

A deity is called a kuladeva because our elders worshipped that form specially due to family tradition or location. It does not mean that only that deity should be worshipped and that other forms should not be worshipped.

Therefore, we may keep and worship the images of any form of Bhagavān in our home.
