A question arises: If we do not know the exact Tithi of our parents’ death, when should we perform Shraddha?
The Garuda Purana gives the answer.
It says that if the Tithi is not known, then the Shraddha should be performed on the Amavasya (new moon day) of the month in which they passed away.
By doing this, one will receive full merit (punya) of performing Shraddha.
In simple words:
👉 If Tithi is unknown, do Shraddha on that month’s Amavasya
👉 This gives complete benefit as per shastra
