Traditionally, iron lamps are especially associated with the worship of Lord Shani.
However, if no other lamp is available, an iron lamp may certainly be lit before God in the evening—there is no fault in doing so.
That said, in the present day, it is rare for anyone to be in a situation where a copper or brass lamp is completely unavailable. Therefore, as a general practice, iron lamps are not preferred for daily worship and are mainly reserved for Lord Shani.
Only in unavoidable circumstances, when no other option exists, may an iron lamp be used.
