Sri Vijayamadhava Teertharu is the 22nd saint from Shri Tambihalli Math. His guru was Shri Sathya Madhava Teertharu, and his disciple is Shri Prasanna Shoora Madhava Teertharu. He served from 1987 to 1996. His poorvashrama name needs to be researched. His brindavan is located at Tambihalli, and his aradhana month is Aashwija, during the Shukla Paksha, on the Tithi of Pratipada.
He was a humble medical representative in his Poorvashrama in Kolar. Sri Vijayamadhava Teertharu renewed the old connections with Saurashtra Madhwas of Madurai, who were initiated to Madhwa Deeksha by Sri Ramamadhava Teertharu between 1720 to 1740. Sri Vijayamadhava Teertharu had observed Chaturmasya Vrata at the Hanuman Temple consecrated by Sri Ramamadhava Teertharu, at Madurai.
Sri Vijayamadhava Teertharu attained Haripada in a divine way. On the Uttararadhana day of Sri Madhava Teertharu, Sri Vijayamadhava Teertharu was performing Samasthana Pooja. When he was displaying the vigraha of Sri Prasanna Ramachandra Devaru, (Made by Sri Madhava Teertharu and worshipped by Sri Narahari Teertharu) a light came out of the Idol (Vigraha) and entered him. With this he breathed his last holding the Idol (Vigraha). This extraordinary event was witnessed by all the devotees who were present on that day. This event is captured in his Charama Sloka as well.
