Shri Vidyavaridhi Teertharu Aradhana (Shri Vyasaraja Math, Sosale)

Shri Vidyavaridhi Teertharu

Shri Vidyavaridhi Teertharu served as the 36th Pontiff of Shri Sosale Vyasaraja Math from 1915 to 1940. His Guru was Shri Vidyavratnākara Teertharu, and his disciple was Shri Vidyaprasanna Teertharu. His Aradhana is observed on Bhādrapada Shuddha Panchami. Shri Vidyavaridhi Teertharu's Brindavana is located in Sriranga, which is one of the five Mūla Brindavanas at Vyasaraja Math. His Pūrvāśrama Name was Shri Rāmācārya.

He was the Pūrvāśrama son of Shri Vidyāśrīnivāsa Teertharu, who was the 33rd Pontiff of Sosale Vyasaraja Math.

During his tenure, numerous assets such as properties, cash, gold, and more were generously donated to the Math. In 1920, a golden cradle and a Navaratna Mantapa were offered to Mūla Gopālakrishna Devaru, a Ratna Mantapa was made for Shri Mūla Pattabi Rāmadevaru, along with a Vairamudi and other golden ornaments for the Samsthana deities. In 1924, due to a flood, the Math was shifted to Shri Vyasarajapura, where he constructed a new Math.

He preserved the glorious history of the tradition in his work "Guru Mahātmyā Manjari." Without this work, the greatness of each of the Yatis in the Sosale Vyasaraja Math tradition would not have been known to us.
