Shri Vedavyasa Jayanthi

Vedavyasa Jayanthi Vaisakha Shukla Trayodashi is celebrated as Shri Vedavyasa Jayanthi.  The Lord took Avatar as Shri Vedavyasa on this day.  He was born to Parasara Maharishi and Satyavati.  

He is the author of the Mahabharata, one of the major Sanskrit epics. He is also associated with compiling the Vedas into their present form. Vyasa, also known simply as Vedavyasa, is one of the seven Chiranjivi (immortal beings) in Hindu tradition
