Shri Satyasandha Teertharu Aradhana was the 26th Pontiff of Shri Uttradhi Math. He attained Hari Pada in 1794, Moola Brindavan is located in Mahishi. After shri satyabhOdaru decided to make him his successor, he noticed that his Ayusha was getting over. So, with special prayers to shri rAma dEvaru, he transferred 10 years and a few months of his own Ayusha to Satyasandharu and gave him the pITa.
Miracles
At Pandarapur, he got the darshan of Lord viTTala as a brahmachAri.
During his sanchAra, it so happened that on one day he had no flowers at all to offer to rAma dEvaru at the time of his daily worship. He could not get any flowers in spite of his best efforts. When he was thus worried, an old man appeared as if from no where with lotus flowers and offered them for the pUja and disappeared even as everyone was watching him.
shri satyasandha tIrtharu felt supremely happy that Lord rAma himself had sent these lotus flowers for his own worship. On this occasion, in his supreme happiness he offered all the lotuses to rAma dEvaru and other deities and found that he had none left to offer to shri sIta dEviyaru. He was greatly worried. Miracle of miracles happened! A lotus flower jumped from shri rAma and sat on shri sItA making him very happy.
When he visited Gaya, the locals did not allow him to enter the temple. They said that they would not open the doors unless a large sum of money is paid. But the doors miraculously burst open for swAmIji. This happened day after day for seven days. When the locals realised their loss as no pilgrims came to them, they pleaded to be excused for their arrogance.
When shri satyasandha tIrtharu visited Udupi, he met the pontiffs of the ashTa maTAs. He spent some time there in scholarly discussions. The pontiffs were impressed with his knowledge of the shAstrAs. He was then cordially and respectfully invited to perform the samsthAna pUjE in each of the eight maTAs. He left Udupi after giving Udupi Krishna sizeable kAniKE and deep sense of admiration in the hearts of the noble pontiffs.
On one occasion when he visited Sangli, he performed his daily worship of samsthAna deties in front of the brindAvana of shri satyavrata tIrtharu, and did his Nyaya-Sudha pravachana. The brindAvana shook extensively side to side, many times, as if nodding its head in great appreciation of the pUjE and pravachana of this saint. This was seen by everyone present including the King Balaraj Urs.
Another incident was one of Panduranga viTTala himself coming in the form of an old brahmin to receive mudra from shri satyasandha tiIrtharu.
When he came to know that he had only a few days left in his mortal life, after annointing his successor, he gave detailed instructions on how his body, in case he attained haripAda during sanchAra, should be taken to mahishi where he would like to have his brindAvana. He had chosen mahishi as it is a puranic place. Lord rAmA had visited this place. And hanumantha dEvaru had installed an ashwattha Tree and ashwatthanArayaNa pratima there.
Among his great achievements is a composition of 100 meanings for each of the shlokas in shri vishNu Sahasranama. He has also written commentaries on vishNustuthi and purusha sUktha.
His biography is captured in satyasandha vijaya.
