Prostapadi Bhagavata Aramba refers to the commencement (Aramba) of the recitation or study of the Bhagavata Purana in the month of Bhadrapada (also called Prostapada in some Sanskrit texts).
"Prostapadi" is another name for the Bhadrapada month (usually August–September).
"Bhagavata" refers to the Shrimad Bhagavata Purana, one of the most sacred texts in Hinduism, especially in Vaishnavism.
"Aramba" means beginning or starting.
So, Prostapadi Bhagavata Aramba means the starting of the Bhagavata Purana recital or study during the Bhadrapada month.
This is a spiritual tradition in many Madhwa and Vaishnava homes and mathas.
The Bhagavata Purana is often read or listened to during this time to gain spiritual merit, devotion to Lord Vishnu or Krishna, and to cleanse the mind.
It is especially common during the Chaturmasya period, a sacred four-month time of religious observance.
