Matsya Jayanti celebrates the birth anniversary of Lord Matsya, the first incarnation of Lord Vishnu, who saved the world from destruction. The festival is observed on the third day (Tritiya) during the bright half (Shukla Paksha) of the month of Chaitra. On this day, devotees worship Lord Vishnu and perform pooja.
