Maha Shivarathri

🕉 Maha Shivaratri

Rudra Devaru is one among the Trinity (Brahma-Vishnu-Shiva), ruling over Tamo Guna (quality of ego).

He is the Mano Abhimani Devata – the controller of our mind (Manasu).

In Dvaita, Sri Rudra is in the 5th Kaksha of Taratamya, along with Garuda and Sesha.

He is the son of Lord Brahma (Virinchi Tanaya) and thus the grandson of Lord Vishnu.

🔱 Shiva's Significance

Layakaraka (in-charge of destruction) with Lord Vishnu (Sankarshana Roopa) as his Antaryami.

Eeshaana Dikpaalaka – guardian of the northeast.

He bears Ganga on his head, and is the guru of devatas like Indra.

Called Vaidyanatha, the divine doctor curing physical and mental suffering.

🔰 Lord Shiva – Greatest Vaishnava

Declared in Bhagavata Purana: "Vaishnavaanam yatha Shambhuh" – Among Vaishnavas, Shiva is the greatest.

Lord Shiva worships Lord Vishnu constantly.

He preached Rama Nama Mahima to Parvati Devi and Narayana Mantra to Ganesha.

Worshipped Vishnu in his incarnations for Loka Kalyana.

🙏 Worship in Madhwa Sampradaya
