Dhanurmasa begins when Soorya enters Dhanur Rasi and ends when he moves to the next Rasi. Puja performed during this time yields more fruitful results.
Early Morning (4:30 am - 6:30 am) is the ideal time for Dhanurmasa Puja. Offering Naivedya during this time brings Adhrishta Phala (divine blessings).
Usha-h Kaala: The time 2 hours before sunrise is when Snana, Sandhyavandana, and Devara Puja should be done. Huggi Naivedya is also offered during this time, which fulfills prayers.
Puja Timing:
If done while stars are still visible, it is considered the best (Uttama).
If done after stars disappear but before sunrise, it is Madhyama.
Puja after sunrise is considered ordinary and not truly Dhanurmasa Puja.
Smruti MuktAvaLi says one should finish rituals before sunrise, similar to the practice during Saadhana Dvādashi, but with a focus on finishing the Puja before sunrise, not the meal.
Kambali Dana (Bed sheets, Carpets) for couples for well-being.
Huggi Naivedya: This is prepared using green gram (Moong dal) and rice. The best ratio is 2:1 (greengram to rice). Offering this as Naivedya grants divine blessings.
Puja done before sunrise (while stars are visible) is most beneficial, with a reward of 1000 years of merit.
Puja done after sunrise has no merit.
Huggi Naivedya, made with green gram, when offered to Lord Vishnu, ensures fulfillment of desires and eventually grants Moksha.
