Chaturmaasa Ksheera Vrata begins
End of Dhadhi Vrata and the beginning of Sheera Vrata
From Bhadrapada Shuddha Ekadashi to Ashwayuja Shuddha Dashami, milk and its derivatives (like cream, cheese, and other dairy products) should not be used in naivedya preparations. However, curds are an exception, and for making payasa, coconut milk can be used.
During the rainy season, the main food for cows is abundant. This new fodder contains heat from the earth, which transfers into the milk, increasing its warmth. Additionally, cows that were involved in mating during the previous period might have conceived, and milk from newly conceived cows is considered less beneficial for consumption. Therefore, milk is restricted during this period.
