Ingredients

Asafoetida                   - ¼ Teaspoon

Red Chillies                 - 4 Nos.

Tamarind                    - size of Amla

Orange Peel (Skin)      - From 2-3 Oranges (Small Size)

Urad dal                      - 1 Tablespoon

Cooking                       - As required for sauteing.

Coriander Seeds          - ¼ Tablespoon (Optional)

Black Pepper               - ½ Tablespoon

Salt                              - As per taste

Instructions

  • Clean the Orange Peels completely free from all Pith (White Substance attached to the Skin).
  • Cut the Orange Peels into small pieces.
  • Take some oil in a pan and saute the Red Chillies, Urad Dal, Black Pepper and Coriander Seeds for few mts until the Dal & Coriander Seeds change colour.
  • Remove from the Pan keep them aside for cooling.
  • Add more oil in the Pan and Saute the Orange Peels till it becomes soft.  Turn off the Pan and keep aside the Orange Peels for cooling.
  • After few minutes, put the Orange Peels and all other sautéed ingredients in a mixer along with required Salt.  Do not add water to it.

Your Chutney is ready now.
