Shri Padmanabha Teertharu, the direct disciple of Shriman Madhwacharyaru decided to establish a new lineage. He initiated one his disciples Shri Lakshmidhara Teertharu and established a new Matha to spread Tatvavada. This math was called as Shri Padmanabha Teertha Matha and was spreading the Philosophy across the country along with the Moola Matha.
Shri Sripadaraja Teertharu was the Shishya Shri Swarnawarna Teertharu and became the Pontiff of Shri Padmanabha Teertha Matha after his Guru. It is widely believed that Shri Sripadaraja Teertharu is the incarnation of Dhruva.
Shri Sripadaraja Teertharu was highly knowledgeable and the Math flourished during his Period and the entire Madhwa Community benefitted from his guidance and wisdom. He blessed the community with many miracles and parted immense knowledge to everyone. Since then, Shri Padmanabha Teertha Matha became popular and is referred till date as Shri Sripadaraja Matha because of the great Guru who adorned the Peeta of this Math.
