He is the 34th seer in the lineage, or guruparampara, of Pejawar Mutt. He was born on March 3, 1964, in Haleyangady-Pakshikere, Dakshina Kannada district, to Krishna Bhat and Yamunamma. His pre-sannyasa name was Devidas Bhat, and he was initiated into the monastic order in 1988.
He pursued Vedic studies at Admar Gurukula and obtained a Vedanta Vidwat degree from SMSP Sanskrit College. He is well-versed in all four Vedas and holds a B.A. from Poorna Prajna Evening College in Udupi. Fluent in several languages including Kannada, Tulu, Hindi, Sanskrit, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and English.
An adept swimmer and yoga practitioner, he has imparted shastas teachings to Kaniyooru Seer Vidyavallabha. He took sanyasa Deeksha in 1988 at the age of 24 and is the publisher of the monthly magazine 'Achara Vichara'.
Under his supervision, nearly 2,000 cows are cared for at the Neelavara and Kodavoor goshales. He also oversees a special school at Neelavara and is involved in cultivating coloured capsicum at the Kodavoor goshale. Additionally, he manages higher primary schools at Ambagilu and Yellur, as well as the Prahlada Gurukula behind Pejawar Mutt, which offers both Indian system of education and general education.
